Ja. magazine is an award-winning, South African e-zine (and occasional printed publication) geared towards publishing new written and visual work with a handmade twist.
The publication was first dreamt up over a couple of beers in a small Cape Town pub following a photography session with a Cape Town rapper. Writer Dave Mann and photographer Niamh Walsh-Vorster teamed up to launch a free digital publication aimed at platforming the work of local artists through a new and innovative form of publishing.
With the art of storytelling at its core, Ja. magazine publishes short stories, poetry, personal narratives, photo essays, illustrations, fine art, profile pieces, book reviews and more, all packaged in a semi-handmade, semi-digitised magazine.
