WHY YOU MAKE YOUR ART?
Art and creativity allows me to connect to an energy bigger than myself - like tuning a radio into a distant station for a while and listening to some strange music and language and trying to make sense of it in a material way….it is spiritually nourishing.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO MAKE IT?
Inspiration comes from unexpected sources. I am inspired by other artists, by my urban environment, by nature around me at a macro and micro level. I am also hugely inspired by great design in all it’s forms.
WHAT IT SIGNIFIES OR REPRESENTS?
I am still trying to work this one out for myself. Maybe it is my struggle to find my voice and uniqueness in a noisy world.
WHAT'S UNIQUE OR SPECIAL ABOUT HOW YOU MAKE IT?
I am very comfortable switching between digital and analogue mediums. I often start with sketches, then take it digital and continue to tinker and then go back to physical painting and so on. I embrace technology.
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU?
I suppose it’s all about connection. Creating something that connects with others in one way or another gives the work meaning.
